JobDescription:Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries of infants and children in both the clinics and occasionally in the emergency department as requested.
Responsibilities:1. Examines, diagnoses, and treats acute and onic diseases and injuries of infants and children into young adulthood in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.2. Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.3. Examines patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required. Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings.4. Conducts ward rounds and prescribes therapy.5. Administers and prescribes treatment such as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.6. Performs minor surgical procedures.7. Determines need for and assists in specialized medical care and treatment.8. May be granted additional privileges based on documented proficiency9. Will agree to serve on at least one hospital/clinic committee10. Works on quality improvement activities within the department in collaboration with other pediatricians and Department Chairperson11. Will work closely with the Department Chairperson  in supporting departmental goals12. May be granted additional responsibilities based on consultation with Department Chairperson.
Requirements:1. Board Certified/Board Eligible (or equivalent) in Pediatrics2. Doctor of medicine degree (or equivalent) from an approved school of medicine3. Completion of residency training in Pediatrics at a hospital and program acceptable to the Departmental Chairperson and Chief Medical Officer.4. Minimum 3-5 years experience post-residency in the clinical arena preferred5. Fluency in English Required6. Fluency in Mandarin a preferred7. Fluency in German and/or French a plus.8. Superior diagnostic skills
