The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou),(“HKUST(GZ)”), was officially approved by the Ministry of Education ofPeople’s Republic of China to enter the preparatory status in September2019.

The Biosciences Central Research Facility provides cutting-edgetechnologies in a broad range of biological research. We are currentlylooking for an experienced technical officer to manage the flowcytometry, microscopy, and histology cores. Our platforms currentlyinclude flow cell based and stream-in-air based flow cytometers,high-speed confocal microscopes, high content screening microscopes,super-resolution microscope, laser dissection microscope, andhigh-performance histology suite. In addition to upholding existingstandard protocols, the appointee is expected to adopt and drive newtechnological innovations in areas such as the high-throughputsingle-cell sorting technique, super-resolution imaging, and AI-basedmicroscopy data analysis. He/she will also be expected to demonstrateabilities to coordinate research service or collaborative researchprojects with effective timeline management.

Duties
1. 监督中心设施的日常运作，提高科大的科研技术水平；
2. 监督、指导和管理团队成员的技术及其他问题；
3. 领导新技术核心的实施，包括战略规划、投资技术趋势、申请资金、评估不同技术平台的有效性、招标、空间规划、设施安装等；
4. 向来宾和校外用户宣传大学的生命科学中心设施；
5. 培养与用户的关系，组织研讨会、用户小组会议和工作坊等活动，向用户介绍新技术，并收集他们的反馈意见；
6. 制定仪器操作SOP，为用户提供仪器使用培训；在上级指导下，对仪器进行日常维护；限度地减少仪器停机时间以使设备保持服务状态，并确保每位用户的操作符合SOP要求；
7. 担任部门安全专员，确保操作符合健康和安全规定；
8. 指导初级技术专员，包括仪器培训和定期维护，确保他们能够独立完成日常工作；
9. 完成领导交办的其他任务。

Qualification Requirements
1. 生物科学或相关专业本科或以上学历，硕士学历优先，10年以上相关工作经验，包括丰富的管理和操作经验；
2. 具有优秀的分析能力、批判性思维、组织能力、较强的沟通和表达能力；
3. 有生命科学核心设施工作经验者优先；
4. 全面深度掌握与岗位相关的知识，能够高效运用技术知识解决问题；
5. 满足团队和团队成员的实际需求，确保团队按照计划完成任务；
6. 根据项目和时间管理原则和流程组织工作，为应对突发事件和问题制定方案和实践；
7. 具有良好的中英文书写和口语能力（精通普通话者优先）。


This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered acontract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the Mainland laborlaws and regulations. Starting salary will be commensurate withqualifications and experience.
